Digital radiology

New!
Examination of the osteoarticular system by:

  • State-of-the-art technology
  • Doctors with extensive experience in the field
  • An accurate and complete diagnosis

Conventional radiologic examination (X-ray) is one of the most commonly used techniques of imaging investigation of the osteoarticular system.
This method is atraumatic and allows to obtain images of the bone structures with the help of X-rays in order to accurately diagnose the patient’s diseases.

Digital radiography is an innovative method in which X-rays are no longer impregnated into a film, but are recalculated into digital pixels using a high-resolution detector. This produces high quality images with precise information on damaged structures.
Digitally obtained radiologic images can be archived for later comparison.

What does the investigation entail?

Making a digital image of the examined area, by controlled exposure of the patient to a beam of X-radiation and using autocorrection and control systems that minimize the patient’s exposure to the X-ray beam.

Depending on the patient’s condition, the patient lies on the table or stands (in the case of knee X-rays).

What conditions does it detect?

Radiography is recommended in the diagnosis of traumatic osteoarticular disorders.

How do we prepare for the X-ray?

For the time of the investigation, the patient is asked to remove clothing, jewelry, removable braces, glasses and other metal objects that may interfere with the procedure.

    Contraindications

Radiologic investigations are not recommended for pregnant women and children. It is very important that during the first part of pregnancy, women are not exposed to radiation because it can cause DNA mutations. For both pregnant women and children, the same risk-benefit ratio must be taken into account.
