Electrotherapy

Low-frequency currents are characterized by pulses of various shapes, which have a frequency between 0-1000 cycles/sec.
From the shape of these pulses comes the shape of the current, which can be triangular, exponential, rectangular or trapezoidal.
This category includes: CDD (diadynamic current), Trabert, TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation).

Trabert current

It is a rectangular current and that achieves two fundamental effects, namely analgesic and hyperemizing (greatly increases vascularization).

The main application indications are:

  • musculoskeletal disorders (concussions, sprains, sprains, dislocations, muscle strains, joint pain)
  • rheumatic articular and abarticular disorders (reactivated arthrosis, arthritis, stiloiditis, epicondylitis, scapulohumeral periarthritis)
  • neurological disorders – neuralgia, neuritis
  • peripheral circulatory disorders

It has the following application directions:

  • abarticular rheumatism (myositis, tendonitis, bursitis);
  • degenerative diseases such as arthritis;
  • post-traumatic stress

CDD (diadynamic current) has 5 basic forms:

  • Fixed single phase (MF)
  • fixed diphazate(DF)
  • rhythmic syncopated(RS)
  • short period(PS)
  • long period(PL)

TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation)

It is a current with rectangular pulses, emitted by small devices, with one or two output channels, thus benefiting from one or two circuits, and two or four electrodes can be applied on the surface to be treated.

Magnetodiaflux

– is a procedure using electromagnetic fields generated by low frequency currents (50 or 100 Hz).
– is the effect of the magnetic field on the human body, it is very complex, having effects on the exchange of substances between cells, implicitly on metabolism, also endocrine effects and on the vegetative nervous system.
– has good effects in stress and chronic fatigue and orthopedic medical recovery (e.g. status post fractures).

ACTION:
The action of the magnetic field on the human body is different depending on the mode of administration:
a) sedative effect, when administered in continuous field, with sympatholytic and tropotropic action;
b) excitatory effect, with sympatholytic and ergotropic action, in administrations interrupted rhythmically or arrhythmically.

HOW TO APPLY
Electromagnetic waves are applied by means of two circular coils, which are placed cervical and lumbar. The patient is positioned in such a way that the magnetic north overlaps the terrestrial north.
Sessions last 4-6-10 minutes.
