Hya Joint (hyaluronic acid solutions)

Hya Joint is a product containing hyaluronic acid packaged in a sterile glass syringe. Hya Joint is a clear, viscous, liquid solution. Hyaluronic acid is a polysaccharide normally found in the structural elements of skin, subcutaneous tissue and synovial fluid. It is identical in all living organisms, which results in increased biocompatibility. Each ml of Hya Joint contains 10 mg of sodium hyaluronate dissolved in saline. The pH of Hya Joint solution is between 6.8 and 7.8.

Packaging:

2.5 ml syringe – 25% more than similar products

Indications:

Hya Joint is indicated in the treatment of arthritis pain that does not respond to conservative treatments (analgesics, anti-inflammatory drugs).

Therapeutic efficacy:

Hya Joint can reduce mechanical stress on joints. It creates a protective joint barrier. Hya Joint protects the synovial tissue and causes the joint cartilage to heal.

Painful joints have the following characteristics:

Decreased joint lubrication due to decreased levels of hyaluronic acid;
Painful joint movements due to increased levels of inflammatory substances called prostaglandins;
Reduced thickness of joint cartilage.

Injecting hyaluronic acid into the joint has the following effects:

By increasing the amount of hyaluronic acid in the synovial fluid, it increases its vascularity and thus the degree of freedom of movement of the joint;
It decreases the level of prostaglandins, reducing pain;
It improves the quality of existing articular cartilage;
These effects last for about 1 year.

Patients who may benefit from infiltrations:

Vascoelastic solutions are effective in patients with moderate atrophy, who show a poor response to the following conservative treatments:
a) Oral analgesics (paracetamol) + anti-inflammatory drugs;
b) Anti-inflammatory gels;
c) Physiokinetotherapy;
d) Intra-articular cortisone infiltrations.
Infiltrations with vascoelastic solutions have little effect in advanced arthrosis. We have extensive experience in the treatment of large joints (hip, knee, ankle, shoulder, elbow, elbow, fist) with Hya Joint.

Contraindications

  • Local infection at the injection site – we can introduce the germ into the joint;
  • Systemic infection with fever – increases the risk of joint contamination;
  • Precautions in patients with coagulation disorders or in treatment with oral anticoagulants, as it increases the risk of bleeding in the joint.

Roles of Hyaluronic Acid:

Cartilage protector
a) Vascous properties – Upon friction between the joint surfaces, the Hyaluronic Acid molecules in the synovial fluid act as a lubricant, protecting the joint surfaces from mechanical damage;
b) Elastic properties – Under joint loading pressure, the hyaluronic acid in the synovial fluid acts as a shock absorber, protecting the cartilage from compressive trauma.

Cartilage nourishment:
a) Small molecules such as water, electrolytes, electrolytes, various nutrients can freely permeate cartilage and synovium;
b) Large molecules such as proteins and other inflammatory mediators have a hard time crossing the network.

Synovial tissue protection:
a) Hyaluronic acid is a protective barrier for the synovium;
b) It masks inflammation receptors in the knee.

About Hyaluronic Acid
History

  • In 1934 Palmer and Meyer isolated a new polysaccharide from the vitreous body of the bovine eye. It was named “Hyaluronic acid” having 2 sugar molecules in its composition as opposed to the single molecule compound called uronic acid; in fact, the substance is derived from the hyaloid (vitreous);
  • In 1996, in accordance with the new nomenclature for polysaccharides, the name Hyaluronan was proposed. Names like: Hyaluronic Acid, Hyaluronan, Sodium Hyaluronate have also been used in the literature;
  • Hyaluronan was first used in humans in 1980, utilizing hyaluronic acid obtained from animals. Healon introduced the vascular solution, an injectable gel, for use in ophthalmic surgery. Hyaluronic acid was subsequently used in other conditions: joints, anti-wrinkle creams, ophthalmologic;
  • Hyaluronan exists normally in the body (except in plants) and is a universal component of the extracellular space;
  • Hyaluronan can be found in numerous tissues of the body such as the skin, vitreous body, articular cartilage (as a component structure) and synovial fluid (as a lubricant, shock absorber, metabolic medium and filter).

    What rehabilitation programs are available for different musculoskeletal conditions

    Musculoskeletal conditions, particularly back pain, tendinitis, sprains or fractures, can seriously affect mobility and quality of life. However, there are several rehabilitation programs available, each tailored to your needs and the type of condition you're experiencing. Choosing the right rehabilitation program is key to getting back to your daily activities and preventing relapses.
